Hello sisters,
Today, I want to talk to you about something every woman should know: how to take care of your vagina properly. It’s not about using expensive products. It’s about understanding your body and treating it with care.
Let me explain in a simple and clear way.
1. Your Vagina Cleans Itself
The vagina is designed by God to clean itself. It has natural discharge (wetness) that helps remove dirt and keep it healthy. You do not need to wash inside the vagina. Please do not insert soap, water, or any substance inside. Doing that can cause infections.
2. Wash Only the Outside (The Vulva)
When you take your bath, use clean water and mild, unscented soap to wash only the outside part. This is called the vulva. Do not use strong soap, antiseptics, or perfume products there. These can irritate the skin and disturb your natural balance.
3. Wear Cotton Underwear
Cotton underwear allows air to pass through and helps keep the area dry. Avoid wearing tight or nylon panties for too long. Also, try not to wear underwear while sleeping every night. Let your body breathe.
4. Wipe from Front to Back
After using the toilet, always wipe from the front (vaginal area) to the back (anus). This helps prevent bacteria from entering the vagina. That can lead to infection.
5. Change Wet or Sweaty Clothes Quickly
After exercise, swimming, or sweating, do not stay too long in wet clothes or underwear. Moisture encourages bacteria and yeast to grow. Always change into dry clothes as soon as you can.
6. Be Careful with What You Put Inside
If you use tampons, menstrual cups, or sex toys, make sure they are clean. Wash your hands before and after. Do not leave tampons in for more than 4 to 8 hours. Always read and follow the instructions.
7. Eat Healthy and Drink Water
What you eat affects your vaginal health. Drink plenty of water and eat foods like yogurt, fruits, and vegetables. Try to reduce sugar and processed foods. Too much sugar can lead to yeast infections.
8. Visit the Doctor When Needed
Make it a habit to go for medical checkups. If you notice unusual discharge, itching, bad smell, or discomfort, do not keep quiet. See a doctor. There is no shame in taking care of your health.
